LUSAKA, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) — South African bantamweight champion Bukiwe Nonina has vowed that she will teach her Zambian opponent a lesson when the two meet on November 22, the Times of Zambia reported on Tuesday.

The South African boxer will challenge Catherine Phiri for the World Boxing Council (WBC) Silver title in Lusaka, the Zambian capital.

“I will be coming to Zambia not only to fight Catherine but to also teach her a lesson to remember. Beating Catherine and winning the WBC title will be a stepping stone in my career. The fight will be my birthday and winning the title will be a good present,” the 23-year-old South African boxer was quoted as saying by the paper.

She admitted that the fight will not be easy but noted that she was ready to challenge the champion and grab the title.

The South African boxer has a record of eight fights with six victories, two via knockouts and two losses while the Zambian boxer has a record of nine fights, all victories with four via knockout.
