Zambia Motor Rally Association is scouting for thirty five thousand US Dollars to send Mohammed Essa to the Africa Rally Championship set for Madagascar next month.
Association vice president, Samuel Ching’ambu, is appealing to the corporate world to come on board and help the association raise the 35 thousand US Dollars needed to send the driver to Madagascar.
Cing’ambu has told ZNBC Sports in Kitwe that the Madagascar rally is the last of the eight Africa Rally series, a championship Essa cannot
afford to miss.
Ching’ambu says the association has so far managed to raise 10 thousand dollars towards the rally.
Essa is currently second of the Africa Rally Championship table, with 93 points behind Garry Chaynes Ivory Coast.
And Essa says he is ready for the Madagascar Championship but appealed for government support.
He says the rally is not all about him, but will help show-case Zambia’s Motorsport.
Essa also says he is confident that he will beat the Ivorian driver to
the finishing line and return the title he won in 2012.
