Police arrest suspects in connection with a spate of criminal activities in Lusaka

Police have arrested four suspects in connection with a spate of criminal activities that have been happening in Lusaka leading to the recovery of assorted household goods worth over K450,000.00.

Two vehicles and a toy gun that were being used in the commissioning of the crimes have also been recovered.

The suspects have been charged with aggravated robbery, house breaking and theft and will appear in court soon.

In another development, a 17 year old girl has been arrested for having stolen a nine months old baby from Lusaka’s garden house market.

The baby was stolen from its mother on 6th August, 2014 and found in Kapiri Mposhi where it was being kept by a good Samaritan after picking it up from the market.

The suspect disappeared with the baby after offering to help its mother. Investigations have revealed that she ran away with the baby to Ndola and a few days later, went to Kapiri Mposhi were she dumped it under the table at a market.

The baby has since been reunited with its mother while the suspect is in Police custody awaiting court appearance.
