Zambia National team inspirational captain, Christopher Katongo has joined camp together with three other foreign based professionals, namely Given Singuluma, Rainford Kalaba and Kabaso Chongo. The four took part in this morning’s training session at Heroes stadium

Kennedy Mweene, Emmanuel Mayuka,Nathan Sinkala, Emmanuel Mbola, Stopilla Sunzu , James Chamanga and Jacob Mulenga are all expected to join camp by end of business today.

And speaking to fazfootball.com,after training, Katongo said he was very impressed with the performance and commitment of the new players but emphasised there is need to manage the transformation of the Chipolopolo with caution.

“If we are not careful, our transition may be slippery and we may fall. I have told the young players never to wait for any one, each time they are in camp but to put in their best” said 2012 BBC Africa Footballer of the year.

Meanwhile Katongo says the team well understands the situation at stake and will do their utmost best to get a good result in Niger.

“We cannot go to Niger and collect one or no point at all. A situation like that will mean doom for Zambia” he added.

Zambia will on Saturday October 11 play Niger in a game involving two teams with bruised egos. Niger lost their first game to group leaders, Cape Verde and drew with Mozambique four days later.

The top two teams in each of the seven groups will join Morocco at the finals. The sixteenth team will be the third best placed team out of the seven groups.
