THE country’s most prestigious competition, Miss Zambia Golden Jubilee 2014, has just begun with 12 final hopefuls successfully named from all the 10 provinces.
But wait a minute! Why 12 instead of the exact number of provinces 10? Like in the Idols SA Season 10, which ended up with a new twist of having 11 finalists instead of 10, this year’s pageant has seen a twist and rise in the number of participants by two.
According to the organisers, it was nothing technical but the other two girls were irresistibly good such that they just had to give them an opportunity to prove themselves too.
The selection then means that the Copperbelt and Southern provinces have a numerical advantage though it is now beyond provinces but an individual game!

This is the crucial stage of the competition where, not only catwalk skill on the runway and beauty applies but brains too! It’s simply serious business.
The finalists now are: Natasha Kawasha Banda and Wendy Manyunga from Southern Province, Melba Shakabola and Michelo Malambo from Copperbelt Province.
Others are Sophila Kasukumya from Lusaka Province, Inonge Museto from Eastern Province, Natasha Mapulanga from Central Province, Maureen Longa of Muchinga Province, Royce Chimbela of North-Western Province, Given of Northern Province, Sarah Chibwe of Luapula Province and Nyangu Mtonga of Western Province.

The selection of the top 12 top place from a quite and beautiful Mika Convention Centre off Great East Road where the finals of crowning the final Zambian queen will apparently take place on October 11.
Almost all the successful girls talked to have attributed their lip to the top 12 to God and one wonders and waits patiently when only one will emerge winner.
Elizabeth Mwanza is happy with the selection of the girls and all she can foresee is a very good competition for this year’s run.
