President Sata arrives in NY, USA

President Michael Sata has arrived in New York, United States of America to attend the 69th United Nations General Assembly.

 

President Sata who arrived in New at 06.00 hours Zambian time today was received by Foreign Affairs minister Harry Kalaba, minister for land, Natural resources and environment protection, Mwansa Kapeya as well as Community development minister Emerine Kabanshi.

 

Zambia’s Ambassador to the and permanent representative to the united nations Dr Mwaba Kasese-Botha and other senior Zambian government officials were also on hand to welcome the Republican President.

 

President Sata is accompanied by First Lady Dr Christine Kaseba, and his special assistant for press, George Chellah.

 

While in New York president Sata is expected o participate in high level debates, key among them the climate summit to be chaired by UN Secretary General Ban Ki moon.

 

Zambia’s Ambassador to the and permanent representative to the united nations Dr Mwaba Kasese-Botha told ZANIS in New York that President Sata will utilize this opportunity to support calls for increased effort towards the fight against the deadly Ebola disease.
