The opposition United National Independence Party-UNIP in Northern Province says it is embarrassing and shameful for the once mighty Kabimba to tumble from chief executive officer to a mere ordinary member of the PF.

Commenting on the firing of Wynter Kabimba as minister and party official by President Sata, UNIP regional chairperson, Freedom Kafunda told Mano News that Kabimba has been given a dose of his own medicine.

Meanwhile, out-spoken Kafunda has called-on newly appointed PF Secretary General and Justice Minister, Edgar Lungu not to emulate his predecessor.

Mr. Kafunda stated on the contrary, Mr. Lungu should give the Zambians the desired constitution.

• But Patriotic Front Northern Province Secretary, Everist Chela says the party’s Provincial Executive Committee-PEC will only remain loyal to the office of the secretary general and not to an individual.

And Mr Chela has congratulated Edgar Lungu on his appointment as Secretary General and Justice Minister.

The regional secretary charged that the President’s decision is final.

Mr Chela also thanked Wynter Kabimba for being part of the winning team in the 2011 general elections as Secretary General.

• Meanwhile, Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba and his Lukashya constituency counterpart Alfridah Kansembe has led scores of PF cadres to offer solidarity to the firing of Secretary General and Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba.

The PF supporters marched through the town centre making the business to come to a standstill.

The cadres commended President Sata for hearing to their cries who were allegedly seeing the party dying as a result of the former justice minister.

Currently, the duo of Kasama Central Member of Parliament Geoffrey Mwamba and his Lukashya constituency counterpart Alfridah Kansembe are addressing party members and Radio Mano will update you on the outcome of the meeting.

• The opposition Movement for Multiparty Democracy-MMD says former Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba should be made to explain how he smuggled the Kenyan nationals into the country during 2011 elections.

MMD Northern Province chairperson, Stephen Mukuka told Mano News yesterday that with Wynter being fired, he should now tell the nation how brought the said Kenyans into the country to allegedly help the ruling party win the 2011 general elections.

Mr Mukuka stated that the move bordered on the security of the country.
