Zesco ‘ powers’ Southern province.


Lusaka, August 30th, 2014,  ZANIS— ZESCO has embarked on a robust K48 million electricity power projects in various towns across Southern Province.

 

ZESCO spokesperson Henry Kapata says the projects are among other benefits aimed at meeting the much anticipated power demand in the province.

 

Mr. Kapata explained that the ongoing construction of the new Lusaka road 66/11 KV substation in Livingstone will meet the much anticipated load growth in all parts of Livingstone.

 

ZANIS reports that the Utility company ‘s spokesperson said this in an interview in Lusaka, today.

 

The Livingstone substation which is located at the new stadium site will be commissioned in September 2014.

 

And Mr. Kapata has disclosed that the upgrading of the Linda, Choma and Koza lodge 33/11 Kv substations will be completed in September and December respectively.

 

He said the projects are part of ZESCO’s quest aimed at supporting the fast growing developmental activities in the new Southern province provincial capital.

 

Mr. Kapata charged that ZESCO is committed to ensure that it provides quality services to its customers countrywide.

 

Meanwhile, Mr. Kapata has urged health institutions in the country to have electricity power backups in the vein of electricity going off or as a result of an electric fault.

 

Mr. Kapata also called on the health institutions to ensure that they carry out a routine maintenance of their gen-sets so that they can stand the taste of time.
