Lusaka, August 31st , 2014, ZANIS—Government says the country has made tremendous efforts in addressing challenges facing young people.
A youth specialist at the ministry of Youths and Sport Kakuwa Musheke says government remains resolute in addressing issues affecting the young people by promoting youth development and participation.
Mr. Musheke , who is a Senior Youth Development Officer, said government has also demonstrated its strong will to develop youths in the country by adhering to various international conventions on youths such as the Maputo plan and among others.
ZANIS reports that Mr. Musheke said this at the closure of the 5 Days National Youth Network on Population and Development Workshop Communiqué in Lusaka yesterday.
The workshop attracted youths from various youth groups from the ten provinces of Zambia and was sponsored by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
And the youths called on government to continue engaging them in various issues affecting the nation in a bid to foster cooperation and understanding.
National Youth Network president Robert Zimba said government should ensure that the laid developmental projects respond to the needs and aspirations of young people in the country.
