Zambian Handball team confident of winning zone six trophy

 

Lusaka, August 25, 2014—The Handball Association of Zambia (HAZ) has expressed confidence that the team will win the international Hand ball Federation (IHF) zone six under 20 trophy challenge.

 

HAZ Communication Manager Josab Changa said both the female and male teams have adequately prepared and are currently in camp.

 

He disclosed in an interview with ZANIS in Lusaka today that eight countries namely Zambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Malawi, are scheduled to participate.

 

Changa said the Zambian team compromises 16 girls and 16 boys and are ready to face their opponents including the reigning champions Mozambique.

 

He stated that the games are scheduled to take place at the Olympic Youth Development Centre (OYDC).

 

Changa noted that the tournament is solely being sponsored by the IHF which will foot the travel and lodging expenses for the participants as the association has not received sponsorship from the locally.

 

Zambia last hosted the prestigious games in 2006 and is for the second time hosting the prestigious games which will run from August 30 to September 6, 2014.
