MPIKA, Friday 8th August 2014

We take this opportunity to confirm that the Tanzania Zambia Railways Authority (TAZARA) unionised workers in Zambia who have been on strike since 22 July 2014 have called off the strike following the release of funds by the Government of Zambia for the five months’ salary arrears, which was the subject of the strike.
In view of the normalisation of operations in the Zambia region, the TAZARA Mukuba passenger train shall resume operations from New Kapiri Mposhi to Nakonde today, Friday 8th August 2014.
