GOVERNMENT plans to hold meetings with neigbouring countries such as Malawi and Zimbabwe on how best to tackle the outbreak of Ebola.
Ebola virus disease (EVD) or Ebola hemorrhagic fever (EHF) is a human disease caused by the Ebola virus.

Symptoms typically start two days to three weeks after contracting the virus, with a fever, sore throat, muscle pains, and headaches.
Ministry of Health permanent secretary David Chikamata said inter-country discussions are cardinal because they will enable countries to  share ideas on how to manage Ebola.
Dr Chikamata said in an interview in Lusaka on Sunday that Government has also put in place interventions to prevent the outbreak of deadly diseases.
“We plan to have inter-country meetings with Zimbabwe and Malawi to discuss how we can deal with  Ebola,” Dr Chikamata said.
He said the ministry has also put in measures at all entry points to prevent the outbreak of Ebola.
Last week, Minister of Health Joseph Kasonde said Government has trained health personnel in various parts of the country on how to identify, contain and respond to cases of Ebola.
Dr Kasonde said Government has not closed border posts owing to the threat of the disease but is watching the situation through identified isolation facilities at points of entry and exit.
He said Government has put adequate measures to contain Ebola, a viral disease which kills up to 90 percent of those who contract it.
“We have a response team in place should there be a suspected or confirmed case of Ebola. The team has visited each of the major points of entry. The Ministry of Health has put measures in place and there is no need for apprehension,” Dr Kasonde said.
The minister also said Government has embarked on awareness campaigns in communities on how people can identify symptoms of  Ebola
