National Restoration Party (NAREP) has challenged the House of Chiefs to come out in the open and state its position regarding the continued impasse between traditional leaders and the patriotic front government.

NAREP General Secretary Bwalya Nondo noted that House of Chiefs Chairperson Chieftainess Nkomeshya Mukamambo the third should break the silence on what he termed as harassment of traditional leaders by the PF.

Mr. Nondo challenged Her Royal Highness to categorically state her position on the recent threats by the government through Chiefs and Traditional Affairs Minister Nkandu Luo that chiefs masquerading as chiefs should be arrested which was in apparent reference to Chitimukulu the designate Henry Kanyanta Sosala.

Meanwhile, Senior Chief Mukuni of the Toka-Leya people of Southern Province has argued that the recognition of a Chief by the Head of State alone does not make one a Chief in the eyes of the subjects.
