A heavy presence of the Zambia Police officers this morning surrounded former Defense Minister Geoffrey Mwamba’s, GBM’s Kabulonga home in an apparent move to arrest him for alleged failure to appear for questioning on Friday in matter in which he is alleged to have assaulted one of his former employees.

Mr. Mwamba (GBM) was scheduled to appear before Matero Police on Friday but requested through his lawyers that the he appears on Tuesday as he was not available for questioning on the earlier scheduled date.

And Mwamba’s wife Chama, who has expressed surprise by the heavy presence of police officers at her residence, disclosed to Qfm news in a telephone interview that the Police officers surrounded her home at about 04:30hrs.

Mrs. Mwamba says her Husband’s Lawyers later also arrived at about 07:30 and allowed two Police officers with a search warrant to enter Mr. Mwamba’s premises while others remained outside.

She says her Husbands’ Lawyers have also wondered why there was heavy presence of the Police when they had written to them that they could not make it due to other commitment which led to pushing of the questioning to Tuesday the 27th of May 2014.

And Qfm news crew that rushed to the scene also found a heavy presence of Police Officers and Cadres outside the premises of Mr. Mwamba’s residence to drum support former the former Defense Minister.
