Red Arrows and Zambia number two goalkeeper Daniel Munyau says he is relieved to be back in action after a long injury layoff.

Munyau has been sidelined since last September with a torn tendon in his right leg.

The Arrows goalkeepers’ recovery saw him join Zambia’s training for the first time this year for their monthly home-based players get-together for the month of May.

“After a long time I am very happy that I am back with the national team so that I can get back to the level I was at last time,” Munyau said.

“It a very difficult time waiting for a long time but I worked very hard, and was very patient during the recovery.”

Munyau, who has yet to make his competitive return to action, returned to full training three weeks ago.

His injury also saw him miss Zambia’s outing at the 2013 Cecafa Cup in Kenya last December where Chipolopolo finished third.

Munyau had an eventful 2013 when he stood in for suspended Kennedy Mweene in Zambia’s 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifier against Lesotho last June.

A month later, he helped inspire Zambia winning the 2013 Cosafa Cup on home soil that saw him win the goalkeeper of the tournament award.
