A WIDOW of Mpulungu’s Location township has died after being shot 15 times over her late husband’s estate.
Northern Province commissioner of police Charity Katanga confirmed the incident in an interview from Kasama.
Alice Nayame, a teacher, was shot to death around 19:00 hours on Sunday by an unknown person.
“The woman was found dead at her residence and she had 15 bullet wounds all over her body,” she said.
The police have arrested a man to assist with investigations. A home-made gun and a black jacket were found at the scene of the incident.
“Right now, I cannot name the person we are holding because we are still investigating the matter,” she said.
