First Lady Kaseba urges women in Northern Province to go for cancer screening

FIRST Lady Christine Kaseba-Sata has urged women in Northern Province to take the countrywide cancer screening exercise seriously.

And Dr. Kaseba has called for concerted efforts in reducing cases of maternal deaths in the country.

Dr. Kaseba says this is because cancer was a threatening disease claiming a lot of lives in the country, it was important for women in the province to go for screening.

She says it was for this reason that there was need for women to be proactive in ensuring their good health.

She stressed that through regular medical checks by women, the fight against cancer will be successful.

ZANIS reports that the First Lady said this upon arrival at Kasama Airport this morning ,en-route to Muchinga Province for an official engagement.

And Dr. Kaseba has called for concerted efforts in reducing cases of maternal deaths in the country.

The First Lady said it is disheartening to see many expectant women dying during labour due to maternal complications.

She advised men in the country to always support their womenfolk for them to access safe motherhood.

Meanwhile, Dr. Kaseba assured Patriotic Front members in Northern Province to continue rallying behind President Michael Sata and his administration.

She said President Sata loves each PF member despite the status in the ruling party.

Dr. Kaseba further urged PF members in Kasama District to foster unity- of-purpose for the ruling party to remain strong in the area.
