The Zambian government has summoned the Tanzania Zambia Railways Managing Director to respond to concerns over continued strike actions by TAZARA employees.Transport Minister YAMFWA MUKANGA says the issues affecting TAZARA staff have to be resolved as soon as possible .Mr MUKANGA says it is unfortunate that the matters have taken long to be redresssed. He explains that the company has not been operating at full capacity despite the 9.5 million US dollars injected by the two governments for recapitalisation and payment of retirement arrears.Mr MUKANGA was speaking today during the Government Forum radio program on ZNBC radio 2.Meanwhile, Mr MUKANGA said his ministry has made headways in the procurement of a radar which will significantly improve the country’s status of air navigation equipment. He said the committee tasked to purchase the piece of equipment has already identified a supplier with part payment made and the purchasing order has been confirmed.
