TAZARA workers in Kasama have gone a go slow demanding for their four months’ salary arrears.
TAZARA Public Relations Officer Ernest Mwape when reached for comment only said he needed more time to contact his superiors in Tanzania.

However , the aggrieved workers who spoke on condition of anonymity say they have downed tools after their employer turned them into destitution to support their families.

They have appealed to government to replace the current management for their alleged failure to deliver.

ZANIS reports that the striking workers said this in an interview in Kasama, today.

They said the rail company management has failed to operate the trains effectively, a situation that had made many people to shun the railway firm.

They called on government to intervene in the matter adding that operations at the once profit making company were now inefficient.

They wondered why they should be crying to government all the time to
sort out their financial problems.
