Government  says it is committed to work with the National Youths Development Council in the involvement of youths in the developmental agenda.

Western Province Permanent Secretary Augustine Seyuba says since youths in any  given Country are the drivers of economy hence the need to  in cooperate them in the national development agenda.

He  said the country can move forward if only Youths are brought on board in various  development  activities.

He said this at his Officer in Mongu when National Youths Development Council ( NYDC ) chairman Dr. Saviour Chishimba paid a courtesy call on him in Mongu April 18th.

The Permanent Secretary has implored the NYDC to work with the Ministry of Youths and Sports Development in the District.

And Dr. Chishimba says that  youths for a long time now have been given little opportunity to participate in the national development except in the Patriotic Front (PF) government.

He  said funds for NYDC is given monthly by government hence the need to empower Youths in the District.

He advised youths in the district to venture into technical skills since 78.8 percent  of youths who graduate from various colleges yearly end up unemployed.

He revealed that his organization will this year July 2014 embark on the recruitment of 100 Youths in each Province in technical skills as way of reducing and empowering Youths in the Country.

However, Ministry of Youths and Sports development Provincial Coordinator Azele Mbewe said cordial integration of the two partners would bring about tangible results for Youths as they both have a common goal.

The exercise will be carried out in all the 10 Provinces of Zambia.

The meeting was attended by government works and nongovernmental organisations.
