The opposition MMD in Northern Province says it has resolved to rally behind the leadership of Nevers Mumba.
Commenting on the squabbles that have engulfed the former ruling party, MMD Regional Chairperson Stephen Mukuka charged that the party is aware that the two vice presidents namely Dr Micheal Kaingu and Dr Brian Chituwo are being sponsored to maliciously destroy the party.
Mr Mukuka charged that the two vice presidents have not been honesty to the party president Nevers Mumba.
He disclosed that this was resolved at a Provincial Executive Committee Meeting held at Kasama’s Persian Lodge yesterday.
And Mr Mukuka has since stated that the party in the region is not part of those championing for an extraordinary convention who he accused of having a hidden agenda.
Off late, the MMD has been entangled in a leadership wrangle with calls for an extraordinary convention in a view to hound out Nevers Mumba
