FORMER Copperbelt Province minister Matthew Sampa Mulanda has been put to rest.
Mr Mulanda, 76, was buried yesterday at Kansenshi Cemetery in Ndola after a requiem mass that was held at the Cathedral of Christ the King.
Mr Mulanda died on Monday this week at Ndola Central Hospital from diabetes complications.
The Government described the late Mr Mulanda as a hard working man who contributed to the development of the city of Ndola and the country at large.
Copperbelt Permanent Secretary Stanford Msichili said Mr Mulanda had left a legacy in the country which should be emulated.
“Mr Mulanda did a lot for this country, he worked very hard and contributed to the development of the city of Ndola when he saved as a councillor and Member of Parliament for Bwana Mkubwa and Chifubu constituencies here,” he said.
Family representative Peter Kafwimbi said the late Mr Mulanda was dependable and helpful in the family.
He said he was a peaceful man who understood everyone despite their status.
A wife, eight children, eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild survive him.
