He added that the new substation will also facilitate adequate power supply for mining and farming companies in the districts.

He told ZANIS in an interview in Lusaka today that part of ZESCO revenue will go towards social amenities such health, education, road construction and many others in the district.

The Itezhi Tezhi hydro power supply project is expected to start in June this year and be completed within a period of 41 months.

And Mr. Kapata has said the Itezhi Tezhi power project was of significant importance to the area because of the increased mining and agriculture activities currently going on in the district.

He explained that under the same project, ZESCO will increase power supply to the district from 1MVA to 10 MVA, the development he said will lead to improved standards of living and increased economic activities in the district.
