PRODGIAL striker Evans Kangwa has made a shock return to Nkana after earlier dumping the 2013 MTN/FAZ Super League champions for Zanaco.

Kangwa joined his Nkana team mates in training for the first time yesterday afternoon in the team’s first workout since returning from a two-friendly match visit to DR Congo on Monday.

Nkana secretary Ken Mwansa said in an interview that Kangwa returned to Kitwe on Monday.

”He came back on Monday and as far as we are concerned he has always been our player,” Mwansa said.

Mwansa added that Kangwa’s contract with Nkana was still valid despite reports that he had joined Zanaco as a free agent.

”They (Zanaco) approached us in writing saying that he is a free agent but that is not true. He is our player contrary to reports and he is also on our retention list,” Mwansa said.

Kangwa last played competitive football for Nkana in the 2012 season.

He returns to Nkana hoping to resuscitate his career after one year in the cold following a botched move to Spain.

This is after a deal to join Spanish second division side Recreativo Huelva fell through in July after spending half a year with the club.

Kangwa later went AWOL last August at the end of Chipolopolo’s 2014 CHAN qualifiers before resurfacing in December at Zanaco.
