Thirteen Zambians arrested for cannabis

–Thirteen (13) Zambians have been arrested for being in possession of cannabis in Tanzania.

Muchinga Province Deputy Police Commissioner Bonny Kapeso disclosed the development to the Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Chinsali today.

He said the 13 Zambians were apprehended on Friday 24 January 2014 on the Tanzanian side and have since been charged with unlawful possession of cannabis.

Mr Kapeso said the arrested Zambians are between the ages of 17 and 24 years old all of Nakonde district in Muchinga province.

Among the arrested Zambians include, Lucky Sinkala, 18, Moses Sichula, 22, Cephas Simukoko, 20,Yoram Kalumbi, 20, Brighton Sinkala,20, Derrick Simbeya ,18, Charles Silavwe,24  and Justine Siwale, 20 all of Ntindi village.

Others are Musonda Sichinsambwe, 17, Keston Sichinsambwe, 18, Sydney Mukondya, 20 of Tazara Compound.

He named others from Katozi and Chiyanga Villages as Richard Mugala, 20 and Eric Ng’andwe aged 19.

Mr Kapeso said the arrested Zambians will appear in court soon.
