Renewed skirmishes involving rival Patriotic Front cadres have reportedly broken out in Lusaka’s central business district.

The latest violence is believed to have been sparked by the management of a bus station.

Last week’s skirmishes between the rival camps claimed the first life leaving several other nursing machete wounds.

Reports reaching QFM News indicate that the machete wielding cadres have forced the closure of Lusaka’s City Market.

Last week cadres allied to PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba and those opposed to his continued stay as the party’s Chief Executive officer clashed with one group wielding machetes and other dangerous objects leaving one cadre dead with several others injured.

This was after one of the rival groups had mounted a road block along airport road checking passing vehicles for targeted officials.

This was during the time President Michael Sata had gone to Kenneth Kaunda International Airport for the ground breaking ceremony for the expansion works at the airport.
