Technical Committee optimistic of producing final draft by 31st October

The Technical Committee Drafting the Zambian Constitution says it is optimistic that it will produce the Final draft constitution by 31st October, 2013.

Technical Committee spokesperson Ernest Mwansa says the committee yesterday the 18th of October, 2013 finished the consideration of the reports from the independent editors that were engaged to edit the final draft constitution and the report of the technical committee which gives the rationale the committee used in adopting the articles in the final draft constitution.

Mr. Mwansa says the final draft constitution has now been handed back to the legislative draftspersons to incorporate the changes necessitated by the editorial comments from the independent editors.

Mr. Mwansa notes that following the incorporation of the editorial comments, the final draft constitution and the report of the committee will be delivered to printers for printing adding that there after, the Final Draft Constitution to be accompanied by the Constitution of Zambia bill once printed will be handed over to President Michael Sata and Simultaneously to members of the public on a date to be announced once the president gives the committee a date on which to hand over the final draft constitution to him .
