Cancellation of Digital migration tender not witch-hunt – Mwamba

Mr Mwamba says the Ministry of Information and broadcasting services has an obligation to ensure that it executes any government project in a transparent manner.

He adds that the advice given by Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) on the Digital Migration tender cannot be ignored.

Mr. Mwamba says ZPPA is the procurement Authority in the country and the regulator of all public procurements hence it is imperative that its concerns are respected by following its guidance.

Mr. Mwamba has since stated that the Ministry is considering reconstituting a task force on the digital migration.

The Information and Broadcasting Permanent Secretary announced the cancellation of the tender on the supply, delivery and commissioning of the National Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting System in line with advice his ministry received from the Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA).
