President Michael Sata has kept his faith in Patriotic Front Secretary General Wynter Kabimba as the party’s Chief Executive officer, ignoring calls by some party members to have him removed.

Sources have disclosed to QFM News that during this morning’s joint Cabinet and Central Committee meeting, president Sata instead wondered why Police did not arrest PF cadres who had matched to State house to demand Mr Kabimba’s removal.

President Sata earlier demanded a stop to the endorsement debate which is spearheaded by Defence Minister Geoffrey Mwamba.

Meanwhile, Patriotic Front (PF) cadres in Lusaka have vowed to continue with protests against embattled party Secretary General Wynter Kabimba if President Michael Sata does not drop him from his position as party Chief Executive officer.

The cadres who are seeking the removal of Mr. Kabimba as party Secretary General this morning marched to State house were a joint Cabinet and Central committee meeting was taking place to press for the removal of Mr Kabimba who they accuse of working against President Sata.

Speaking this morning after leading a protest march to State House, Chawama constituency Chairman who is also said to be the interim Lusaka District chairperson, Robert Chikwelete told Qfm that his group is ready to go on protesting against Mr Kabimba for a period as long as one year until Mr. Kabimba is removed from the position of Secretary General.

Mr. Chikwelete states that the removal of Mr. Kabimba will allow genuine PF members to run the affairs of the party.
