POLICE in Western Province have arrested a juvenile aged between 14 and 16 years for sodomising two other juveniles aged eight years.

Acting police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said in a statement in Lusaka yesterday that the juvenile has been charged with sodomy and will appear in court soon.
“It is alleged that both boys aged eight years were sodomised by the 14-year-old boy while they were playing in Chisonga area in Mongu.
The suspect has been arrested and charged with sodomy contrary to Section 155 of the Penal Code of the Laws of Zambia, and will appear in court soon,” Mr Hamoonga said.
He said the incident happened on Tuesday.
And Mr Hamoonga said one person of Lusaka’s Kanyama has died after being burnt in a house he was sleeping in while the other is nursing severe burns in the University Teaching Hospital (UTH).
Mr Hamoonga said the incidents happened yesterday. In both cases, candles were left burning.
Mr Hamoonga said the value of property burnt is not yet known as the owner is unable to talk due to the severity of the burns.
In a related incident, Mr Hamoonga said a 30-year-old man of Old Kanyama is nursing fire burns in UTH after his house was burnt.
He said Clement Likando of house number H44/85 left a candle burning and went to sleep.
And NANCY SIAME reports that a raging fire has swept through 12 saw mills in Ndola’s industrial area and destroyed property worth thousands of Kwacha.
The fire started around 20:00 hours on Tuesday and was still raging by 13:00 hours yesterday.
Acting Copperbelt commissioner of police Joyce Kasosa confirmed the incident in Ndola yesterday.
