—Livingstone residents are happy with the on – going rehabilitation works taking place in the tourist city ahead of the forth coming UNWTO general conference next month.

Henry Bwalya, a resident of Livingstone, said the rehabilitation works are long over due as
some buildings had been left uncared for a very long time.

He said companies should be rehabilitating from time to time instead
of neglecting their buildings adding that events such as the UNWTO do not happen every
year.

Speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Livingstone today Agness Phiri,
a trader, noted that government should also sped up works at the new market in
order for traders to conduct business in a clean environment.

She explained that very few people reach certain areas like
COMESA market thereby affecting their profits and business.

She added that the rehabilitation works will help uplift the face of
Livingstone and attract more people to come to the tourist capital.

And Dennis Chama also expressed happiness at the works being done in
the city by various business firms.

He said this will also help attract tourists to the city.
