The Fly-5 Lusaka Showdown Concert

LOCAL musicians, JK, Cactus Agony, Slap D and Pompi, who together with model Petita Mwanza, have teamed up with Proflight in an effort to bring fun to local travel, will next week be in concert at the Polo Grill in Lusaka.
The four musicians will perform with Uncle Rex, Ras Willie and Early Birds band during the show dubbed ‘The Fly-5 Lusaka Showdown Concert’.
The show, which starts at 19:00 hours, has been pegged at KR50 and KR100 VIP.
Proflight, a fortnight ago, launched the alliance with the four musicians and Petita, calling it the Fly-5.
“It’s a big high-five to Fly-5,” said Proflight director of Government and Industry Affairs Philip Lemba, who revealed the airline’s brand ambassadors at a press briefing and photo shoot in Lusaka.
“These personalities epitomise the vibrancy, energy and excitement of air travel, and of Proflight as an airline. So it is the right mix to help us serve a new generation of go-getting Zambian high flyers wishing to travel for leisure or business.”
Fly-5 has already recorded a Proflight theme song and a vernacular jingle about Proflight Zambia’s early bird fare of KR250 per person, excluding airport taxes to Livingstone and Ndola.
The theme song is a love song about how Proflight connects people and keeps them together, making long distance relationships possible due to its affordability.
Plans are also underway for a ‘Proflight Early Bird Concert’ to showcase the song and music video and other work by the Fly-5.
The collaboration with Fly-5 is the latest move in Proflight Zambia’s strategy to raise the stakes in the country’s aviation sector.
It follows the introduction last month of a 105-seat Boeing 737-200 aircraft that almost doubles its capacity, and the inaugural flight this month of the carrier’s first scheduled international service, from Lusaka to Lilongwe.
The airline celebrates 22 years of operation this year, and has grown from operating a single aircraft to a fleet of nine, serving nine domestic destinations and one international route.
It prides itself in providing a safe, reliable, efficient and friendly service and is determined to continue its strategy of steady expansion.
