Kabompo schools receives FAWEZA aid

 

Kabompo, May 31, ZANIS ——-Forum for African Women Educationalist in Zambia (FAWEZA) KR 152, 000 to 17 schools in Kabompo and Mayinga districts to support  the vulnerable school going children.

 

This was disclosed by North Western FAWEZA Chairperson Miniver Kabongolo in an interview with ZANIS today.

 

Ms Kabongolo said the money will go towards supporting the educational needs of children at various schools within the district.

 

She said among the schools to benefit include Kamyanda, Chikonkwelo, Chipanda, Kaikumba, Kasamba and Kawanda primary schools.

 

Others are Mayinga, Kulwashi, Sikufele, and Chifuwe North and Kabompo Secondary school.

 

In another development, Kabompo District Commissioner Dennis Kanyakula has commended FAWEZA for donating 12 bicycles to the district FAWEZA group to enhance monitoring of pupils in schools especially girl children.

 

Mr Kanyakula said this during the handover ceremony of the bicycles to the office of the District Education Board Secretary Febby Kilele.

 

And Ms Kilele appealed to government to quickly build a girl’s boarding school in the district because there is none.

 

She said that most girls are forced to rent accommodation in the nearby compounds, a situation she noted puts them on a risky of unwanted pregnancies.
